Holiness,  Serving,  Song,  Surrender

Here Am I; Send Me

“Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.” Isaiah 6:8

Just as in the days of Isaiah, God is still looking for those that He can send. The question is, are we willing to go wherever and do whatever God says?! Have we totally surrendered our lives to Him to do as HE pleases with them?! As many as there are that claim to be Christians, we would think that there would be an abundance of those willing to FULLY serve Him…but there is not. One reason could be because some are not truly born-again, or maybe others are saved but will serve Him on THEIR terms only. In other words, they’ll pick the destination and position; they’ll “call the shots”. This is so wrong! It reminds me of what Paul told the church of Corinth in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20,

“What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.”

If we are saved, we are not our OWN anymore, we are GOD’S! HE alone should be leading our lives now, and our attitude should be as the words of the hymn-writer-

“Where HE leads me I will follow, I’ll go with Him, with Him all the way!”

Today, if we haven’t already, let us go to the Lord and say with sincerity, “Here am I; send me!”

~~~~~~
I can hear my Savior calling, I can hear my Savior calling, I can hear my Savior calling, “Take thy cross and follow, follow Me.”
Refrain – Where He leads me I will follow, Where He leads me I will follow, Where He leads me I will follow; I’ll go with Him, with Him, all the way.
