To Mommas of Prodigals, With Love

In Lamentations 3:51 the Bible says, “Mine eye affecteth mine heart.”

What we look at determines whether we have a heart of faith or a heart of unbelief.

I wonder…

If the prodigal son’s father had social media, would he have been looking down the road each day in expectation of his son’s return? Or would he have given up hope long before due to all the “living it up” pictures his son had been posting on Facebook?

Social media can be a useful tool to share the Gospel, encourage and edify believers, and stay in touch with family and friends. But it can also be used in a way that is detrimental to our spiritual health. More specifically, social media can destroy that little mustard seed of faith needed to move mountains.

In this area of faith, if what we are purposely seeing in our feed causes us to lose hope, it is sin.

“for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.” Romans‬ ‭14‬:‭23‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Friends, when it comes to prodigals, sometimes ignorance is bliss. A good thing about social media is – we CAN control what comes through our newsfeeds.

Please, do not allow what you see on your phone to cause you to stop loving your prodigal with unconditional love.

Do not allow a device to cause you to stop looking down the road for your prodigal’s return.

Today, please begin evaluating everything that you allow to come before your eyes.

Is it building your faith?

Is it pointing you to the One Who is ABLE to do exceeding abundantly above???

If not, please don’t continue feeding on something that is destroying your faith (and quite possibly your health!) If possible, delete or block the faith-destroyers in your life.

“And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.” Matthew‬ ‭13‬:‭58‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.” Matthew‬ ‭17‬:‭20‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt.” Matthew‬ ‭15‬:‭28‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.” Ephesians‬ ‭3‬:‭20‬-‭21‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I just wanted to thank you and pray God blesses you richly for the very important messages you send out to your readers like myself, concerning the Truth of God’s Word and how detrimental it is for us to encourage one another as things all around us are so discouraging and distracting, always trying to get us to give up on the Lord and just “go along” with the world’s ways.
I have been helped by every single message you have sent me!

    Your sister in Christ,

Praise the Lord, friend! As we seek the Lord, He has been so faithful to give us exactly what we need – when we need it! Thank you for taking the time to leave your words of encouragement!
