Family Happenings

Sixtieth Birthday Pictures!

That’s right, folks! Yours truly hit a big milestone this week! I must admit that the days leading up to this birthday had me doing a lot of reflecting. I also found myself almost in disbelief that I was really getting ready to be the big 6-0! But you know what? Sixty isn’t so bad after all! 🙂 In fact, I don’t remember a time when I have felt so spoiled.

I got to spend the day with the one who brought me into this world.

(Let me say right here, it was not your average birth! Weighing in at 11lb. 7oz., I was quite the whopper!!)

The folks at sing-along sang “Happy Birthday” to me – so sweet! For lunch, Mom treated me to a Chick-fil-A meal. YUMMM!

Caleb and family traveled in from Illinois that day and after Wednesday night prayer meeting the plans were to go to Chick-fil-A. At least that was what I was led to believe. However, my son was the mastermind behind a surprise birthday party – and a very successful surprise it was. The girls managed to keep it from me for weeks – I had absolutely no clue!

Complete with big “60” balloons and a birthday girl sash, I was made to feel like quite the queen! (A big thank you to Rebecca for all of the special touches!)

Pizza and several rounds of Dutch Blitz…followed by cake, ice cream, and gifts made for a very special evening!

Breakfast the next morning at Bob Evans brought more surprises when my sister showed up with a birthday cake!

Along with eating, there was a whole lot of story-telling and laughter among this clan.

Many thanks to ALL who showed their love to me in so many different ways! I am one blessed 60-year-old gal, that’s for sure!! I thank the Lord for His FAITHFULNESS to me all these years and am truly looking forward to the opportunities He has for me to serve Him this coming new year – and new decade!!

“I will sing unto the LORD as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.”

Psalm 104:33
