Dear Single Lady (2)

Do not think twice about the man who cannot keep his eyes off other women. No matter his good looks, his intellect, his great physique, his talent, his fortune, his popularity among all the other girls, etc., don’t even consider him if his eyes are constantly roaming. Yes, if you want him bad enough you may “win” him but while you are walking around with your trophy, he is being unfaithful to you in his heart.

“But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.” Matthew 5:28

If he makes the excuse, “that’s just how men are”, he is admitting to you that he is walking after the lusts of his flesh and not allowing the Holy Spirit to control him.

“This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.” Galatians 5:16

Although the eye gate is a particular area of weakness for men, a Godly man will humbly admit his struggles while desiring to have victory in this area just as any other sin. A Godly man will also strive to avoid areas of temptation.

On the other hand, a man that will make excuses while continuing to gawk at any female that crosses his path is a red flag that he enjoys his sin and has no desire to change. Sweet lady, you deserve better than that! Don’t settle for anyone less than God’s best for you!
