Recollections – Cause and Effect

“This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.” Lamentions 3:21

A simple thought this morning – what are we choosing to recall? The above verse indicates whatever was recalled resulted in hope. How would we fill in the blanks below:

“_________ I recall to my mind, therefore have I __________.”

Would it be, “My troubles I recall to my mind, therefore have I despair.”

Or, “God’s ability I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.”

Would it be, “My failures I recall to my mind, therefore have I depression.”

Or, “God’s mercies I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.”

Today, how will our recollections affect our outlook?

“I will remember the works of the LORD: surely I will remember thy wonders of old.” Psalm 77:11
