Are We Causing Others To Rejoice?

The following verse was part of my reading this morning…

Paul’s desire for those believers in Philippi was that they would be a light for Christ in this dark world! One reason for desiring this was that he could rejoice, knowing that all his investment in their lives was not in vain.

Are there people that have invested much in our lives – parents, pastors, teachers, grandparents, other godly mentors? Are they rejoicing right now? Are they grateful for all the labor they put into us over the years…all the prayers, all the teaching, all the tears? Today, are they rejoicing as they watch us remain faithful to the Lord – knowing that their labor was not in vain?

“The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice: and he that begetteth a wise child shall have joy of him. Thy father and thy mother shall be glad, and she that bare thee shall rejoice.” Proverbs 23:24,25

“I rejoice therefore that I have confidence in you in all things.” 2 Corinthians 7:16
