Learning Faith Through Trials

This past Sunday, I received the following from a dear sister – what a sweet surprise! She said she thought of me when she saw it. 🙂

This morning’s devotional from Streams in the Desert certainly gave me something to ponder today. As some of you know, my desire for quite a while now has been to better understand FAITH. And, I must say, the Lord has been FAITHFUL to His Word as stated in James:

“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.” James 1:5

I’m so thankful for that verse and have claimed it quite often! God loves for His children to ask for wisdom and when we do, He will not scold us for asking! On the contrary, He will be faithful to give us a better understanding of the things of the Lord as we diligently seek after those treasures!

“My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee; So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding; Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God. For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.” Proverbs 2:1-6

Below is the devotional on FAITH to which I was referring – a reminder that, very often, the best way to grow in understanding is through trials…
