Broken Pieces

“…and some on broken pieces of the ship. And so it came to pass, that they escaped all safe to land.” Acts 27:44

Reading in Acts this morning reminded me of a recent conversation I had with a mother of a prodigal. In our conversation, I reminded her that God can pick up the broken pieces of this child’s life and use them to bring honor and glory to Him. Just like the broken pieces of the ship were used to bring people safely to land, God can and so often DOES use broken lives to bring others to a saving knowledge of Christ! Aren’t you thankful for that this morning?

“God uses broken things. It takes broken soil to produce a crop, broken clouds to give rain, broken grain to give bread, broken bread to give strength. It is the broken alabaster box that gives forth perfume. It is Peter, weeping bitterly, who returns to greater power than ever.” ~ Vance Havner
