Friend Test

~ Friend Test ~

“Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.”  Proverbs 27:17

Just as continual chopping of wood will eventually dull an ax, continual “rubbing shoulders” with the wrong crowd will dull our spiritual awareness. Two questions:

1. What am I made of? (what effect do I have on my friends)

2. What are my friends made of? (what effect do they have on me)

Iron sharpens; wood dulls. With God’s help, let’s not only be mindful of who our close friends are but let’s also purpose ourselves to be “Iron Christians” and not little wooden toy soldiers.

“Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.” II Timothy 2:22
