The Tempter’s Wiles In Our Weakness

Two separate reminders this morning concerning our vulnerability in weakness…

From Matthew – “And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred. And when the tempter came to him…”  Matthew 4:2,3

From Proverbs – “For she hath cast down many wounded…”  Proverbs 7:26

We should always be on guard for Satan’s attacks, but it is in times of spiritual, physical, or emotional weakness that we are especially susceptible. The enemy does not play fair…in fact, he does not play at all…and delights in “kicking us when we are down”. Spiritual dry spells, physical ailments, emotional hurts…all these are prime conditions for the tempter. May we not only strive to be on guard ourselves but be faithful to lift up our wounded brothers and sisters in Christ.

“Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” Ephesians 6:11
