Just For Women – Praying For Ourselves

The following is an excerpt from Mrs. Terrie Chappell’s book, “It’s a Wonderful Life” and, although it is taken from the chapter titled  “Praying For Your Husband”, below is a list of areas in which she prays for herself. It was shared at our ladies meeting last week – I thought I would share it today…

My prayer is that I would fulfill the roles that God has given me in a way that would be pleasing to Him! I have listed some areas that are on my personal prayer list in hopes that they may be a help to you. There are enough that I could pray specifically for one each day for a month. Here is what I pray…

That I will be the Christian God wants me to be

That I would be Spirit-filled all the time

That I will be a good wife for my husband

That I will be the right mother for our four children

That I would live holy

That I would be a good example as a church member

That I would be soul-conscious

That I will be a Christ-like teacher

That I would be a good steward with my time, talent, and treasures

That I would be a thoughtful daughter and daughter-in-law

That I will be a fine citizen

That I will possess a servant’s heart

That I will not be selfish

That I will be compassionate

That I will have a good attitude

That I won’t be insensitive to the needs of my husband

That I would be as forgiving as the Lord is to me

That I won’t be easily offended

That I would be my husband’s recreational partner

That I would be joyful

That I would show my husband that he is respected

That I would be kind

That I would be frugal

That I would not be a nagging wife

That I would manage the house in a way that is pleasing to my husband

That I would prepare healthy and tasty meals

That I would be a good listener

That I would be thankful for the little things

That I would edify my husband

That I would be patient

That I would avoid every appearance of evil

That I would honor my husband

That I would not hold any bitterness in my heart
