Ruth, Did You Know?
Do you feel as if God is being unkind to you?
He isn’t.
Do you feel as if He has forsaken you?
He hasn’t.
Naomi’s trials were what led her and Ruth OUT of Moab and BACK to Bethlehem.
Without those trials, they would have continued in Moab.
Without them, Ruth would have never gone to glean in Boaz’s field.
Without them, Boaz would have never noticed Ruth in his field.
Without them, Boaz would have never married Ruth.
Without them, Boaz and Ruth would have never had their son, Obed.
Without them, Obed would have never been born and therefore would have never had a son named Jesse.
Without them, Jesse would have never been born and therefore would have never had a son named David.
Without them, David would have never been born…you know…David…KING David.
And on and on we could go down through the lineage of Christ.
Christ…JESUS CHRIST…our SAVIOUR!
Isn’t that the One Whose birth we will be celebrating soon?
Maybe someone should write a song.
Ruth, did YOU know?
Way back in Moab, when your father-in-law, and husband, and brother-in-law died, did YOU know what God had in store for your life?
Way back when you were faced with the choice of going back to the idols, the familiar, the comfortable OR following your mother-in-law and her God to the unknown…
Way back then, did YOU know that you would one day be King David’s great grandmother?
Way back then, did YOU know that you would be included in the lineage of the promised Messiah?
No, Ruth didn’t know.
But God knew.
My friend…God is not being unkind to you.
God has not forsaken you.
He knows exactly where you are.
He sees the end from the beginning.
He has a plan.
Trust His plan.
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and NOT of evil, to give you an expected end.”
Jeremiah 29:11 KJV
