I love his purpose&#8230;his steadfastness&#8230;his determination. When Daniel heard about the decree that had just been signed &#8211; banning any prayer to God &#8211; we see his reaction in Daniel 6:10&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>&#8220;Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.&#8221;\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Daniel just kept praying.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As I continued to read this morning, I came to verse 20 &#8211; the verse at the beginning of this post &#8211; and the phrase &#8220;whom thou servest continually&#8221; stood out to me. I like what a commentator said about this phrase:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>&#8220;<em>Whom thou servest continually<\/em> &#8211; At all times, and in all circumstances: as a captive in a distant land; in places of honor and power; when surrounded by the great who worship other gods; and when threatened with death for your devotion to the service of God. This had been the character of Daniel, and it was natural to refer to it now.&#8221; ~ Albert Barnes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Simply put, Daniel just kept on serving God no matter what came his way. What a great example for each of us this morning! As my mom said recently, &#8220;Just keep on keeping on!
