Well, I’m not sure how long chalk painting has been popular but I would say for quite awhile now. As usual, I’m a little late in getting in on things like this. \ud83d\ude09\u00a0 But, yesterday was the day for me to “take the plunge” and try my hand at this new-to-me home d\u00e9cor project.<\/p>\n

While\u00a0my husband\u00a0was at a men’s meeting this past Saturday, the girls and I went out for a little while that afternoon. I had one particular item I was looking for so, to the consignment store we went in search of a small cabinet. After looking at two different places, here’s what I found.<\/p>\n

The size was perfect but when I brought it home I knew it would be my first chalk painting attempt. I know there are\u00a0much more expensive chalk paints out there but I just went and bought this little bottle at our local Walmart – under $6.00 for 8 ounces.<\/p>\n

The paint went on great and dried quickly, allowing me to apply two coats in very little time. Here it is drying after the second coat.<\/p>\n

After it was dry, I applied a wax finish (using the same brand as the paint). This morning, I did a little buffing and here is the finished product.<\/p>\n
