I would often take that book to my Daddy and asked him to read it to me. My favorite story that I asked for over and over was that of the above passage &#8211; the one lost sheep.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The other day, Bethany was telling me about the story behind the hymn &#8211; &#8220;The Ninety and Nine&#8221;. The words were written by Elizabeth Clephane and the music by Ira D. Sankey, a musician who traveled with D.L. Moody on his evangelistic meetings. The story behind the music for the hymn goes like this:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">[Sankey spot\u00adted these words in a Bri\u00adtish news\u00adpa\u00adper while on an evan\u00adgel\u00adism tour in Scot\u00adland with Dwight Moo\u00addy. He tore the po\u00adem from the pa\u00adper, put it in his pock\u00adet, and for\u00adgot about it. Lat\u00ader that day, at the end of their ser\u00advice in Edin\u00adburgh, Moo\u00addy asked Sank\u00adey for a clos\u00ading song. Ira was caught by sur\u00adprise, but the Ho\u00adly Spir\u00adit re\u00admind\u00aded him of the po\u00adem in his pock\u00adet. He brought it out, said a pray\u00ader, then com\u00adposed the tune as he sang. Thus was born \u201cThe Nine\u00adty and Nine.\u201d This was Sank\u00adey\u2019s first at\u00adtempt at writ\u00ading a hymn tune.] &#8211; taken from cyberhymnal.org<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I woke up a little while ago with this\u00a0hymn on my heart and thought I would share\u00a0the words\u00a0here. I am very thankful for the night when, as an 8-year-old girl, the Loving Shepherd found this lost sheep. I had been under conviction for some time and that night I\u00a0&#8220;waved the white flag of surrender&#8221; and\u00a0trusted Christ to save me.
