{"id":165,"date":"2014-03-17T12:03:43","date_gmt":"2014-03-17T16:03:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.inthineheart.com\/staging\/8143\/?p=165"},"modified":"2021-07-08T21:46:17","modified_gmt":"2021-07-09T01:46:17","slug":"if-we-were-a-bible-character-nabal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.inthineheart.com\/staging\/8143\/2014\/03\/17\/if-we-were-a-bible-character-nabal\/","title":{"rendered":"If We Were a Bible Character &#8211; Nabal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>If we were a Bible character; our life, men had read.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>From the pages of Scripture, just what would be said?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>If God were writing our profile today,<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>To record in His Word; just what would it say?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We read God&#8217;s description of Nabal in the same verse where we read his wife, Abigail&#8217;s, description last week:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><em>&#8220;Now the name of the man was Nabal; and the name of his wife Abigail: and she was a woman of good understanding, and of a beautiful countenance: but the man was churlish and evil in his doings; and he was of the house of Caleb.&#8221;\u00a0 I Samuel 25:3<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">What a sad way to be known by God! When I read this husband\/wife description, I often wonder how Abigail was able to maintain her godly testimony with a &#8220;churlish&#8221; (rude; surly; austere; sullen; rough in temper; unfeeling; uncivil, selfish; narrow-minded; avaricious) husband.\u00a0 To me, it\u00a0is an example of the wonderful grace of God!\u00a0 No matter what circumstance we may face, when we are totally relying on God&#8217;s strength and not our own, His grace is all-sufficient!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em><strong>&#8220;And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.
