(In the last few days, the Lord has allowed me to teach a song – taken right from Scripture\u00a0–\u00a0to some girls at our church. Part of the song is Psalm 139:23 – “Search me, O God…”\u00a0 Just this morning, I received a devotional text from a dear sister and boy, did the first words jump out at me –\u00a0 “Search me, O God”!!\u00a0 She had no idea what song we had been working on, but God sure did!!\u00a0 Below is what I received, along with additional stanzas to what is actually a hymn written by Frank Bottome.\u00a0 I can’t imagine what we would see God do in our lives, our homes, our country…if this were the song and prayer of each of our hearts.)<\/em><\/p>\n

Search Me, O God! My Actions Try<\/strong><\/p>\n

Search me, O God, my actions try, \u00a0\u00a0And let my life appear As seen by Thine all-searching eye\u2014 \u00a0\u00a0To mine my ways make clear.<\/p>\n

Search all my sense, and know my heart \u00a0\u00a0Who only canst make known, And let the deep, the hidden part \u00a0\u00a0To me be fully shown<\/p>\n

Throw light into the darkened cells, \u00a0\u00a0Where passion reigns within; Quicken my conscience till it feels \u00a0\u00a0The loathsomeness of sin.<\/p>\n

Search all my thoughts, the secret springs, \u00a0\u00a0The motives that control; The chambers where polluted things \u00a0\u00a0Hold empire o\u2019er the soul.<\/p>\n

Search, till Thy fiery glance has cast \u00a0\u00a0Its holy light through all, And I by grace am brought at last \u00a0\u00a0Before Thy face to fall.<\/p>\n

Thus prostrate I shall learn of Thee, \u00a0\u00a0What now I feebly prove, That God alone in Christ can be \u00a0\u00a0Unutterable love.<\/p>\n
