\u201cFor the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong<\/span> in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him\u2026\u201d\u00a0 II Chronicles 16:9<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

I love the above reminder!!\u00a0 God is looking\u2026God DESIRES<\/strong> to show Himself strong to us! God WANTS<\/strong> to bless us! God WANTS<\/strong> to show us great and mighty things!<\/p>\n

But, one prerequisite for this is a perfect heart. Obviously, this does not mean a perfect person, for there is no one perfect but God. Aside from confessing all known sin (\u201cIf I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me\u201d Psalm 66:18<\/strong><\/em>), what else characterizes a perfect heart? <\/i><\/p>\n

The two verses that precede the above verse tell us\u00a0something God is looking for \u2013<\/p>\n

“And at that time Hanani the seer came to Asa king of Judah, and said unto him, Because thou hast relied on the king of Syria, and not relied on the LORD thy God, therefore is the host of the king of Syria escaped out of thine hand.<\/span> Were not the Ethiopians and the Lubims a huge host, with very many chariots and horsemen? yet, because thou didst rely on the LORD, he delivered them into thine hand.\u201d<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

God is looking for total reliance on Him. We know that if we are fretting, we are not totally relying on God. \u00a0And, we often quote the following verse as a reminder, \u201cBe careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.\u201d Philippians 4:6 <\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

But, what about the times when we may not be worrying, but we are continually relying on our own strength to \u201cfix\u201d a situation. We find ourselves constantly devising plans – \u201cIf I do this, then surely this will happen.\u201d We rehearse \u201cjust the right words\u201d in our mind – \u201cIf I say this, then I know<\/strong> it will get their attention\u201d.\u00a0 And all that planning and scheming is simply us relying on SELF<\/strong> instead of God. For some reason, even though we say<\/strong> that we can trust God\u2026that we ARE<\/strong> trusting God\u2026for some reason, we still feel as if we need to help God out from time to time. <\/i><\/p>\n

There is something a dear sister said to me several months back, and it has really stuck with me since. She said something like this:<\/p>\n

“I want to see what God will do without any manipulation whatsoever on my part.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

God knows that anything short of complete reliance on Him would be a temptation to bring glory to ourselves. Today, can we just completely \u201clet go and let God<\/strong>\u201d? \u00a0He truly wants to show Himself strong in each of our lives \u2013 for HIS<\/strong> glory!\u00a0 <\/i><\/p>\n

\u201cHelp me, O LORD my God: O save me according to thy mercy: That they may know that this is thy hand; that thou, LORD, hast done it<\/span>.\u201d\u00a0 Psalm 109:26,27<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n
