{"id":1254,"date":"2014-10-08T09:18:26","date_gmt":"2014-10-08T13:18:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.inthineheart.com\/staging\/8143\/?p=1254"},"modified":"2014-10-08T09:20:19","modified_gmt":"2014-10-08T13:20:19","slug":"what-moves-me","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.inthineheart.com\/staging\/8143\/2014\/10\/08\/what-moves-me\/","title":{"rendered":"What Moves Me?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b><i><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.inthineheart.com\/staging\/8143\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/goodsamaritanclipart.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-1255 aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.inthineheart.com\/staging\/8143\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/goodsamaritanclipart.jpg?resize=400%2C450\" width=\"400\" height=\"450\" \/><\/a><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Yesterday, I shared a little thought from Acts 20:24, but here&#8217;s another one &#8211;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b><i>\u201cBut <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">none of these things move me<\/span>, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.\u201d<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In my Bible, beside this verse, I have written \u2013 <strong>\u201cWhat moves me?\u201d\u00a0<\/strong> Paul said that none of <strong>THESE<\/strong> things move him. What <strong>DID<\/strong> move him? What would move an individual to knowingly enter cities where he would be persecuted?<i> <\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As I\u2019ve thought on the above verse, I would have to say that at least one thing that was moving Paul was compassion. Any fears he may have experienced were overridden by his compassion for the lost as well as edification of believers. A very well-known Bible story that perfectly illustrates an individual being moved with\u00a0a heart of compassion is that of the Good Samaritan &#8211; <em><strong>\u201cBut a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">he had compassion on him<\/span>\u201d\u00a0Luke 10:33\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0In spite of the hostility between the\u00a0Jews and Samaritans, this man&#8217;s heart of compassion dominated any negative feelings toward the\u00a0Jews and thus led him to aid the wounded traveler.\u00a0Whatever is deep in our hearts will not only come out of our mouth but will also move us to action \u2013 both positive and negative.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Being moved with compassion, Jesus told his disciples to pray for more labourers<i> <\/i><b><i>\u2013 \u201cBut when he saw the multitudes, he was <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">moved with compassion<\/span> on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest. Matthew 9:36-38<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Being moved with compassion, Jesus healed the sick<i> <\/i><b><i>\u2013 \u201cAnd Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">moved with compassion<\/span> toward them, and he healed their sick.\u201d Matthew 14:14<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Being moved with compassion, Jesus taught<i> <\/i><b><i>\u2013 \u201cAnd Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">moved with compassion<\/span> toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things.\u201d Mark 6:34<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Being moved with compassion, a lord forgave his servant<i> <\/i><b><i>\u2013 \u201cThen the lord of that servant was <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">moved with compassion<\/span>, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.\u201d Matthew 18:27<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p>On the negative side:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Being moved with envy, Joseph\u2019s brothers sold him &#8211;<i>\u00a0<\/i><b><i>\u201cAnd the patriarchs, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">moved with envy<\/span>, sold Joseph into Egypt\u2026\u201d Acts 7:9<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Being moved with envy, the unbelieving Jews persecuted the Christians &#8211;<b><i>\u00a0\u201cBut the Jews which believed not, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">moved with envy<\/span>, took unto them certain lewd fellows of the baser sort, and gathered a company, and set all the city on an uproar, and assaulted the house of Jason, and sought to bring them out to the people.\u201d Acts 17:5<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As Proverbs 4:23 reminds us<i> <\/i><b><i>&#8211; \u201cKEEP thy heart with all diligence; for out of IT are the issues of life.\u201d &#8211; \u00a0<\/i><\/b>how very important to keep a close watch on what we allow in our hearts, for it is <strong>THESE<\/strong> things that will move us to action.\u00a0<em><strong> <\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Today, will a heart of compassion move us to make a difference in someone else\u2019s life?<i> <\/i><\/p>\n<p><b><i>\u201cAnd of some have compassion, making a difference:\u201d Jude 22<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #800080;\">~ Rachel ~<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday, I shared a little thought from Acts 20:24, but here&#8217;s another one &#8211; \u201cBut none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.\u201d In my Bible, beside this verse, I have written \u2013 \u201cWhat moves me?\u201d\u00a0 Paul said that none of THESE things move him.
