{"id":1249,"date":"2014-10-06T08:05:26","date_gmt":"2014-10-06T12:05:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.inthineheart.com\/staging\/8143\/?p=1249"},"modified":"2014-10-06T08:05:26","modified_gmt":"2014-10-06T12:05:26","slug":"grace-for-every-trial-every-mile","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.inthineheart.com\/staging\/8143\/2014\/10\/06\/grace-for-every-trial-every-mile\/","title":{"rendered":"Grace &#8211; For Every Trial&#8230;Every Mile"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I received a call last night from my sister, informing me of some sad news our mother had received.\u00a0As I\u00a0called Mom to check on her, as well as offer words of comfort, it wasn&#8217;t long into the conversation before she began to praise the Lord &#8211; &#8220;We serve a great God&#8230;If it weren&#8217;t for the Lord&#8217;s mercies, etc.&#8221;\u00a0 All I could say was, &#8220;amen&#8230;amen Mom&#8230;that&#8217;s right&#8230;amen&#8230;&#8221; At 91 years of age, my mother was still experiencing the grace of God.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">While thinking on that again this morning, the following verses came to my mind:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em><strong>&#8220;Cast me not off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength faileth.&#8221; Psalm 71:9<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em><strong>&#8220;Now also when I am old and grayheaded, O God, forsake me not; until I have shewed thy strength unto this generation, and thy power to every one that is to come.&#8221; Psalm 71:18<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Spurgeon&#8217;s notes on the above (taken from The Treasury of David) include:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>{There is something touching in the sight of hair whitened with the snows of many a winter: the old and faithful soldier receives consideration from his king, the venerable servant is beloved by his master. When our infirmities multiply, we may, with confidence, expect enlarged privileges in the world of grace, to make up for our narrowing range in the field of nature. Nothing shall make God forsake those who have not forsaken him. Our fear is lest he should do so; but his promise kisses that fear into silence.}<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">What a comfort&#8230;what a blessing to ME, to once again witness my aged &#8220;soldier mother&#8221; experiencing\u00a0God&#8217;s amazing and all-sufficient grace. To all the young\u00a0people, young adults, middle agers, etc &#8211; God is <strong>REAL<\/strong>. His saving grace is <strong>REAL<\/strong>.\u00a0And that same grace is <strong>REAL<\/strong> for every\u00a0trial we may face&#8230;for\u00a0<strong>ALL<\/strong> our days.\u00a0Praise the Lord!!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>New Grace\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>All of grace is my story, All the way from earth to glory. Since by grace be lifted me from sin and woe. Living grace he has extended As on him my heart depended And he\u2019ll give new grace when it\u2019s my time to go.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><em>Grace not yet discovered, Grace not yet uncovered, Grace from his bountiful store, Grace to cross the river, Grace to face forever.
