{"id":10817,"date":"2021-04-03T19:10:14","date_gmt":"2021-04-03T23:10:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.inthineheart.com\/staging\/8143\/?p=10817"},"modified":"2021-04-03T19:10:22","modified_gmt":"2021-04-03T23:10:22","slug":"from-a-mothers-heart","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.inthineheart.com\/staging\/8143\/2021\/04\/03\/from-a-mothers-heart\/","title":{"rendered":"From a Mother&#8217;s Heart"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><em>\u201cHe spake of Judas Iscariot the son of Simon: for he it was that should betray him\u2026\u201d John 6:71<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An unusual post, perhaps, on this evening before we celebrate the resurrection of our Saviour\u2026but one that has been on my heart for a while.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The middle phrase of the above verse is what caught my attention recently \u2013 more specifically, \u201cthe son of Simon\u201d. Judas Iscariot, the one who betrayed our precious Saviour with a kiss, had parents. I know, I know\u2026that\u2019s pretty obvious, isn\u2019t it? But sometimes, I\u2019m afraid, we have a tendency to skip over the obvious.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From a mother\u2019s heart, my simple thought for this evening \u2013 remember the parents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When we see or are made aware of boys and girls or men and women turning their backs on the Lord, living in rebellion, forsaking the God of their youth, etc\u2026remember \u2013 they have parents. Judas Iscariot is probably not a name we would give our newborn son, but he had a mother that, no doubt, loved him. I don\u2019t know the details of the parents of Judas Iscariot, but, as news of the betrayal came, I can imagine a mother weeping for her son. Although this may not have been the case, I do personally know mommas who have cried bitter tears for their children. I have had the privilege of joining with them in prayer for their sons and daughters to be saved or restored from their backslidden condition \u2013 whatever the case may be. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tomorrow, while we take time to rejoice in a living Saviour, many parents will do so with a smile on their face but heaviness in their hearts. They will sing \u201cBecause He Lives, I Can Face Tomorrow\u201d with genuine understanding as their thoughts go to a wayward son. They will sing, \u201cAt the Cross, At the Cross, Where I First Saw the Light\u201d while praying once again for their daughter to see the light.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I would say that most if not all who read this know of wayward children. If you are not already doing so, pray for them. Pray for them like you would want others to pray for your children.
