There have been times that they have brought their toys to the supper table. When this happens, I have to tell them \u201cno toys while you\u2019re eating\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/scontent-iad3-1.xx.fbcdn.net\/v\/t1.0-0\/s600x600\/146969458_2795030527491098_3093309409177455578_n.jpg?_nc_cat=109&amp;ccb=2&amp;_nc_sid=8bfeb9&amp;_nc_ohc=R2GtxcaBMr4AX-qP4tq&amp;_nc_ht=scontent-iad3-1.xx&amp;tp=7&amp;oh=2fd2e041c89645c79d8ac8af8497cd3e&amp;oe=60473647\" alt=\"May be an image of child\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>1 Peter tells us some things we are to \u201clay aside\u201d before coming to the table of God\u2019s Word. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>\u201cWherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings, As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:\u201d\u202d\u202d 1 Peter\u202c \u202d2:1-2\u202c \u202dKJV\u202c\u202c<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Malice<\/strong> &#8211; \u201csettled overgrown anger\u201d<\/li><li><strong>Guile<\/strong> &#8211; \u201cdeceit in words, flattery, falsehood\u201d<\/li><li><strong>Hypocrisies<\/strong> &#8211; \u201ccounterfeit religion, counterfeit friendship, etc\u201d<\/li><li><strong>Envies<\/strong> &#8211; \u201cgrieving at the good of another\u201d<\/li><li><strong>Evil speakings<\/strong> &#8211; \u201cspeaking against, defaming, backbiting\u201d<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Yes, we may continue reading our Bibles each morning, but if we are refusing to deal with these heart issues of malice, guile, hypocrisies, envies and evil speakings, our spiritual growth will be greatly hindered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Were there some things we should have laid aside this morning before we picked up our Bibles? As we confess these sins, let\u2019s be sure we don\u2019t run back to them as a child runs back to his toys after eating.
