\u201cAnd these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.\u201d Deuteronomy 6:6,7<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

In 1990, the above verses were instrumental in our family\u2019s decision to begin homeschooling. As a mother, my focus was mainly on verse 7 which speaks of parents teaching God\u2019s Word to their children throughout the day. It wasn\u2019t long, however, that the Lord began to turn my attention to the previous verse \u2013 in particular, the phrase \u201cin thine heart\u201d. Oh my, how this phrase began to resonate within me! It was not enough to have a HEAD knowledge of what I desired to teach my children each day. The Biblical truths I desired to impart to them must first be IN MY HEART!<\/p>\n

It\u2019s been quite a few years since those early days of homeschooling and, although our little home school officially closed in 2018, my need for daily time in God\u2019s Word has certainly not changed. The older I get, the more I realize just how inexhaustible His Word is! I am still amazed at how a fresh truth seems to jump right off the page of a familiar passage of Scripture – and so often right when I needed it! What a personal Saviour!<\/p>\n

In 2014, the Lord allowed us to launch In Thine Heart<\/strong>. Although you will see an occasional sneak peek into our family, a favorite recipe and other odds and ends sprinkled throughout, our main desire is to pass along Biblical truths, words of encouragement, various devotionals, inspirational quotes, songs, etc. that God has used to encourage and challenge us. And so, from our hearts to yours \u2013 welcome to In Thine Heart<\/strong>! It is our prayer that YOUR heart will be encouraged today!<\/p>\n
