Gray Days

This past Sunday morning, I posted the words to the hymn “O Love That Wilt Not Let Me Go” after hearing it on KNVBC.

Yesterday morning, I read the following devotional, from Words of Comfort and Cheer, which gave a glimpse into the life of the author, George Matheson, during the time he wrote the hymn. Knowing a little more about the background of a song makes it more meaningful, wouldn’t you agree? The poem toward the end of the devotional is actually the second verse of the hymn. When I read stories such as these it often compels me to look inwardly as I ask myself, “What am I doing with MY gray days?”
