Our Reputation

“But they had heard only, That he which persecuted us in times past now preacheth the faith which once he destroyed. And they glorified God in me.” Galatians 1:23,24

What a sweet, sweet time we had in the Lord’s house yesterday. From the morning service to the ladies’ prayer room, the Holy Spirit moved on the hearts of different ones to give testimony of God’s goodness and mercy in their lives. Reading the above verse this morning brought to my mind a few of the testimonies that were given.

As the Apostle Paul speaks of a change in his reputation since salvation, the same should be said of each of us that profess to be saved. No, we may not have persecuted Christians as Paul did, but there should be a difference in what people said about us before salvation…and what people say about us now. There should be a difference in how the world perceived us then…and how they perceive us now.

For the glory of GOD, there should be a change in our reputation since salvation.

“For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries: Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you:” I Peter 4:3,4
