If You’re Going To Walk On The Water – Br. Lester Roloff

On weekday mornings, at 8:00am, KNVBC broadcasts “The Family Altar” with Br. Lester Roloff. I don’t always catch it but this morning, as the broadcast began, I grabbed a pen and journal to take notes on today’s message. The topic was one that the Lord has continually brought my way here recently through a variety of resources. I thought I would share the outline of the message here, in hopes that it will be an encouragement to someone today!

Walking on the Water

“And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.
Mt 14:29 And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.” Matthew 14:28,29

If you’re going to “walk on the water”…

  1. Don’t look at your feet.

Keep your eyes on Jesus!

2. Don’t try to analyze your fate.

3. Don’t try to analyze your faith.

(You can’t reason with faith. The world does NOT understand faith.)

4. Don’t worry about the future.

(If Jesus bids us “come”, He will take care of us!)

5. Don’t consider your foolishness.

(Taking steps of faith will appear foolish to this world. )

6. Don’t worry about the facts.

(ex. “Peter, it’s a fact that no one ever walked on water.”

Peter – “Jesus has! He’s doing it right now!”)

(That is where the broadcast ended so I’m not sure if there are other points to the message. But, the above certainly gave me some food for thought today!)

“For we walk by faith, not by sight” II Corinthians 5:7

“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” Hebrews 11:6
