When Compared To God

Wouldn’t you just LOVE to know what was going through Branson’s mind yesterday when he came face-to-face with this giant??? Ol’ Smoky Bear sure was towering over our lil buddy.

Over the years, I’ve come face-to-face with some “giants” in my Christian life. If you’ve been saved for very long at all, I know you can relate. When we experience these times of testing – where the trial is unbelievably HUGE and seemingly impossible to conquer – we must remember there is absolutely NOTHING too big for God to handle.

Is there a “giant” towering over you? What is going through your mind? Are you remembering:

“Ah Lord GOD! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee:” Jeremiah 32:17

This evening, compare your giant to God.

I like how the author put it when he wrote the words to the following song:

When Compared To God

The Israelites were filled with fright

As Goliath started toward them

Compared to man, this giant stood so tall

But David said, my God has led me here to defeat him

So don’t compare him to me, let’s compare him to God

When compared to God, everything’s small

There’s no giant that compares at all

To the Holy One who sits upon His throne

So when you come to face a mountain so high

One glimpse of God brings it down to size

Satan will flee; you’ll gain victory

When you compare it to God

Oh, my friend, do you fear within

As your giant marches closer?

Do you know within your heart you cannot win?

Just have the faith of David’s day and shout

“My God is bigger”

You’ll find there’s nothing on earth that compares to Him

When compared to God, everything’s small

There’s no giant that compares at all

To the Holy One who sits upon His throne

So when you come to face a mountain so high

One glimpse of God brings it down to size

Satan will flee; you’ll gain victory

When you compare it to God
