Perspective

My, how our hearts were blessed and challenged last evening at our ladies meeting! Our theme, “Fill My Cup, Lord” was certainly fulfilled as each of the three speakers gave us truth from God’s Word. I’m looking forward to what the Lord has for us today!

If you’ve been saved for very long at all, you are fully aware of how Satan works when we have just received help or a blessing from God’s Word. Our adversary desires to quickly snatch that from us before we can profit from the lessons learned. Such was the case last evening and as I went to bed troubled about something that I had just been faced with, I realized what was happening. However, as I read my Bible this morning, I continued to allow myself to mull over some things.

It wasn’t until I noticed a text I had received – at 2:14 am – that my outlook was quickly brought back into perspective. This urgent prayer request once again reminded me of those whose burdens are far heavier than mine. This middle-of-the-night text was a humbling reminder of God’s blessings on my life. The Lord has a way of doing that, doesn’t He?

This morning, what is our perspective – our outlook on the life God has given us? A grateful heart for where God has brought us from as well as all the blessings He has given will help us maintain the right perspective.

“My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise.” Psalm 57:7

I enjoyed attending this ladies meeting and can relate to how the adversary tries to snatch those things from us. I’ve often listened to the sermons posted here but didn’t realize the ladies devotions were on here also. I’m so thankful for this website!!
